This is a beautiful hand-built log cabin. It is built of large cottonwood logs originating from the banks of the Big Hole river 20 miles from Silver Star. The logs are flattened on two sides with a chainsaw, and dove-tail notches are used on the corners to fit the logs in place. This cabin was hand built by the owner, Chip Ashcraft, who is a custom log cabin builder.This cabin features a common sleeping area on the second floor with 1 king bed, 2 queen beds, and a single bed.The cabin is located 400 feet off the county road nestled in a patch of trees, providing a very peaceful and private setting. The closest neighbors are deer and the occasional moose. It is within 5 minutes walking distance of Silver Star fishing access site on the Jefferson river, just downstream from the famous Big Hole, Beaverhead, and Ruby Rivers. It is about an hour's drive to the Madison river. Facing south-west, the veranda can spend beautiful evenings enjoying the sunset. Fenestrated especially to the south, east and west, this green home has a fireplace that matches environmental standards. With 2 bathrooms, one on the ground floor has a whirlpool bath and the other a large glass shower. There is a laundry room and a games room in the basement with ping-pong. Pedal boat, canoe and kayak and safety vests and paddles are provided. Snow removal is provided by a contractor neighbor. Whether cottage or a few miles, there is a multitude of sports and activities to do. Is close to the Spa Ofuro and Refuge. Trails corridor aerobics and Viking will allow you to ski funds, snowshoeing, or for summer hiking. The ski resort Morin-Heights is located less than 10 minutes away. Our home sits on 2.5 acres of 10 acres of family land that has been in our family for generations. I have two bedrooms, one with custom queen size bunk beds and the master with a queen size bed, walk in closet and a walk in rock shower with a Jacuzzi tub and custom tile art work through out the house. Master bath has a koi pond and a taro patch and the kitchen has pineapples and taro leaves that role down the laundry stairs, front entrance sits a turtle (Hono) to welcome you. I have a big family entertainment room with theater chairs and big screen tv with a sound system that has speakers through out the house and deck, bedrooms all have flat screen tv's. I also have a massage chair that truly makes you feel completely relaxed. It is very quiet and peaceful since we have no neighbors and lots of land with fruit trees (oranges,lemons,limes,tangos,tangerines, mango's, avocados and lots of bananas). Our custom home was built in 2005 by my husband and I built with total love. Our kitchen has top of the line appliances and all stainless steal with all granite counter tops through out the house. We take pride in our home, our yard, our marriage and our life.

There is a full kitchen, 42” big screen TV with DirecTV, bath downstairs with shower. The lodge also has a full wrap around porch so you can sit and enjoy the wonderful view. We have added a 15X30 above ground pool to the back of the lodge for our guests' enjoyment. (Approx. 4' deep throughout.) It's 12X20 deck joins the back porch for privacy and convenience. So, swim or sunbathe and enjoy the view while relaxing with loved ones!

This lovely private get-away is conveniently located to everything Portland has to offer. I will be happy to recommend reestaurants and other venues. The deck is gorgeous with heaters, up- lighting, chandeliers and a wonderful atmosphere. It can be used except during stormy weather when you would want to be downstairs snuggled up to the fireplace anyway! Located within walking distance to downtown Portland and convenient to the Pearl district, this romantic private suite is appointed with all of the luxuries found in a fine hotel. There is also a communal deck with mountain and river views available for your use when the weather permits.I do not ask for full payments at time of booking. I like to get a check sent to me for $100 US dollars at the time of booking and it is not refundable if they cancel or do not show up.
